Project Convergence: Day 3

Day Three involved drafting patterns for the various designs. Many students used Garment Designer. Here we are at various stages of designing patterns, printing, and cutting sample prototypes.

Project Convergence: Day 2, Mood Fabrics

Project Convergence: Day 2, Design

On the second day, we began by looking at student sketches. Each student was asked to conceive a general plan of how to utilize his or her handwoven fabric. The idea was to bombing the fabric with a commercial fabric (to be purchased at Mood Fabrics), and to design either a mixed fabric art wear, or an ensemble. Here are their sketches or ideas:

Project Convergence... the group




I am back in California and now teaching a workshop at Convergence, an international weaving conference. Our workshop is entitled, "Project Convergence". There are 13 participants, and we have 3-1\2 days to make a garment or ensemble out of handwoven or hand-created fabrics.
